Long-Term Care Month
"Long-Term Care Planning Month is held each year in October. As life spans increase and family structures change, this event was created to raise awareness of the importance of long-term care (LTC) planning and to encourage financial advisors to incorporate it as an integral part of everyday financial and retirement planning. Have Any Asset Protection Strategies? Have you taken time to think about the number of asset protection strategies that you employ? Here is a list that most of us wouldn't think of going without: Asset Protection Strategy Automobile Car Insurance House Homeowners' Insurance Health Healthcare Insurance Income Disability Insurance Life Life Insurance Retirement Plan Long-Term Care Insurance Would you drive your car without insurance? No! Industry statistics show a 1 in 300 claims ratio with auto insurance. Would you own a home without homeowner's insurance even if you hold the title free and clear? Absolutely not! Claims ratios on homeowners' insurance runs about 1 in 1250. Most of us insure our lives to protect our families and be certain that they will live comfortably after we're gone. But few of us have protected our retirement income and assets, which also protects our families and ensures that they will continue to live comfortably when we grow frail or become sick and need care. And, the risk is more than 1 in 2! Long-term care insurance, like life insurance, is not about the insured. It's about the family and the money. Long-term care insurance will not take family members out of the care equation. What it will do is help them provide care longer and better. It allows family members to oversee the care rather than providing the hands-on care. It preserves dignity and enables family members to remain wives, sons and daughters. It also acts as a firewall in second marriages! Few of us have done long-term care planning. Fewer have private insurance. The Federal Government continues to send messages and incentives to encourage people to take responsibility for this expense. We can help you with your Long Term Care! Call Active Money at 602-494-7641 for an appointment Living a long life is a near certainty. Planning for long-term care is now a necessity."
